Self Guided Cycling In Burgundy powered by Garmin Edge 1000.

While we are based in a 17th Century watermill and The Lodge is decorated with antiques sourced from local 'brocante', we also like to think we move with the times here in Burgundy and in  2016 our self guided cycling tours will come equipped with the very latest in cycling GPS navigation technology. The Garmin Edge 1000.

During a self guided tour at The Hungry Cyclist Lodge,  our guests are now provided with a Garmin 1000 GPS units to assist them with navigating. Starting your day with a hot coffee, fresh croissant and view over the vines, we'll discuss how far you want to ride; how many hills you want to climb; how much wine you want to drink and where you want to taste it.  After that we upload one of our favourite Burgundian cycling routes and all you have to do is follow the instructions given by the gadget mounted on your handlebars.

This gives you more time to cycle and enjoy the region and less time fiddling about with paper route notes. That's not to say we don't appreciate a good map and of course we'll send you away with all the maps you need for your days ride and other important information, however we feel that using the Garmin 1000 enables you to take in more of the wonderful scenery with less of the hassle.

As well as letting you know when to turn left and right, these masterful little toys can also provide you with bundles of other information, such as speed, meters climbed and calories burned. All you have to do is come home when you are hungry.
